The Parent Council AGM is on Thursday 19th September 2019 at 7pm.
Parents, carers and guardians of children attending a school are collectively known as the Parent Forum, and have a right to set up a Parent Council.
The Parent Council exists to help parents and carers to become more involved in their children’s education. They have an important role in a child’s learning and the life of a school. The main role of a Parent Council is to support the school in order to get the best out of it for our children.
Auchengray Primary School Parent Council aims to:
represent the views of parents and carers.
provide a link between the school, parents and the wider community.
work closely with the Headteacher, who provides regular updates on developments in school.
organise events to raise funds to be used in support of school activities and equipment.
raise any concerns expressed by parents.
The Parent Council is currently made up of four members. Chairperson, Vice chair, treasurer and secretary. Mrs Carol Pennock Head Teacher and Ms Cate Wright, Principal Teacher also attend our meetings and provide support to the Parent Council.
Meetings are held about once a term, usually in the evening and are open to all members of the parent forum. We aim to be a friendly group and are keen for everyone to feel welcome at our meetings.
